: ucas-link products

ucas-link enables the electronic transfer of information between UCAS and institutions. It comprises three products:

  1. web-link
Please note that web-link will not be available from Thursday 9 August 2007 until the early hours of Sunday 12 August 2007 whilst we process awarding body information.

You can access the web-link service via this link.

web-link is the new web-based interface, which has replaced our previous Hercules Client product, which incorporates the existing net.update service for your course, entry profile, and fee/bursary related information. web-link is accessed directly through an internet connection, giving you the most up-to-date access to both your applicants and your courses from a single log-on point.

For member institutions who deal with more than one admissions service (UCAS, GTTR, NMAS and CUKAS), quick access is available to all your data by simply navigating through the System Menu and selecting the admissions service of your choice.

You can read an overview of the net.update service and review frequently asked questions about web-link.

  2. odbc-link
odbc-link is the new name for our existing product Hercules Server, which provides all available applicant data via ODBC (Open Data Base Connectivity) or direct through an Oracle connection. Development work will be required by either your in-house IT team or your Software House in order to view the data within your own system(s).

  3. xml-link
xml-link is our new server-to-server mechanism, supplying you with all available applicant data in XML (Extensible Markup Language) format. Development work will be required by either your in-house IT team or your Software House in order to view the data within your own system(s).
